Something about Mary....

Today is the Feast Day for Mary Magdalene. I love Mary. I look to Mary. On a good day, am Mary. Now if you ascribe to the story conflated by Pope Gregory, you will question why I look to a prostitute. Truth be told, I question that story. The Mary I know, the one from the pages of the bible looks different to me. Mary followed Jesus. Mary adored Jesus. Mary stood at the foot of the cross when few would and entered into His suffering. Mary went to the grave because of her great love. And He came to Mary first. He trusted her. To be the one to share the good news first. The apostle to the apostles. That is the Mary I love. That is the Mary, who's love is pure and divine that I choose to follow. There is certainly something about that Mary.....
